We'll reclaim Sokoto from PDP, retain other N'West states -- APC N'West youth leader

...Says PDP will never rule again in Northwest

By Editor

The youth leader of All Progressives  Congress, (APC) Northwest, Abdulhamid Mohd has said that his  party will reclaim Sokoto state from the People's Democratic Party, (PDP) and retain states already governed by the ruling party in the northwest region.

He described  the gubernatorial candidate of APC who is also a former deputy governor of the Sokoto,  Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu a formidable contenteder  who  will defeat PDP's candidate in the  upcoming poll.

Mohd stated that while working to ensure that Sokoto  becomes an APC state again, he added that the PDP will never taste  power in the the region.

According to the  APC youth wing leader, he said his party has over-delivered in terms of education, infrastrucre, among others in states it occupied in the region, and as a result,  retaining states under its control in the northwest will be a walkover  come 2023.

In a statement by Mohd, he noted that, already, "many close allies of Governor Aminu Tambuwal have decamped from the PDP to APC and more of them are expected exit the opposition party before elections Insha Allah. This is a clear pointer to show that APC remains a party to beat in the northwest and entire Nigeria as a whole.

Mohd,  added that  "every political  stunts made by the opposition party to win our people over will be twarted. The PDP has ruled for 16 years and there is nothing good to write home about them.

" Within 6 years of APCs governance in the northwestern states, except Sokoto led by  a PDP governor, we witnessed massive infrastructural development like never before. A  visit to kano and kaduna alone is evident to prove that our progressive governors are up and doing.  We want the benefit to spread accross and that's why we are taking over Sokoto ftom PDP next year," he said.

Highest votes for Tinubu is coming from us, says APC Northwest youth Leader

By Editor

The All Progressives Congress (APC ) Northwest youth Leader, Abdulhamid Umar Mohammad has said that the highest number of votes for the party's presidential candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu will come from the youths.

While describing  the Northwest as a deciding factor and stronghold to cruise the party's presidential candidate, to victory in 2023 General elections, Mohammad however, noted that there is need to carry more youths from the region along in the party affairs, because they have been working tirelessly to mobilize  grassroot support for the party's canditates.

The APC youth leader said,  going by the the number of Permanent Voters Card, PVC registrants, the region has the highest number of total registered voters of about 22 million and youth constitutes about 70 percent of the new registration accross  the country.

According to Mohammad, "going by our calculations, we plan to get about 50 percent block votes from youths in the northwest for Tinubu/ Shetima in 2023. If we combine that with other targeted votes (from elderly people)  that we have been  making efforts to mobilize, then this will amount to about 10 to 12 million votes from the Northwest region alone."

He said " the region,  which is now competitive  has been a stronghold of the APC and it is one of the deciding factors to cruise the party to victory in 2023 presidential elections. However, more youths from the Northwest should carried along because, we have started a grassroot campaign like never before for the party.

We are familiar with the Northwestern politcal terrain as youths that worked to garner support for president Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and 2019 in the region and we need to be heard."  Mohammad who said since the completion of the voters registration execerise that saw the rise in number of youths who partook in the excercise, also maintained that youth leaders accross the northwestern states under his leadership have welcomed more youths into APC in Northwest .  Picture:  APC northwest youth leader, Abdulhamid Umar Mohammad
