Kaduna guber: Sardauna Ashafa meets APC's Zone A stakeholders on Uba Sani 2023 agenda

The Sardauna of Ikulu , Alhaji Ismail Yusuf Ashafa  has met with hundreds of supporters and party loyalists in Zaria to discuss the Senator Uba Sani agenda for 2023. 

Among those present at the gathering were  Aliyu Sa’idu, the  pioneer DG KADCHMA; Barr. Aysha Ahmad Muhammad , Legal Adviser for KADIRS; Rt. Hon. Aminu Abdullahi Shagali , S.A Political Affairs to the Governor of Kaduna State and council chairmen from zone A. 

The gathering was organized to celebrate Senator Uba's emergence as the APC’s flagbearer in the state  and to delibrate on key agenda formation for a new Kaduna under our indefatigable leader, the incoming governor by the grace of God.

In his address, Sardauna who was a guest at the retreat said : "I am delighted to be in the midst of young and highly respected Nigerians of your calibre today for this great occasion of Agenda Formulation and Strategy for Distinguished Senator Uba Sani, governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for Kaduna State. 

" At the onset, I would like to begin by thanking the Chairman and members of the Organizing Committee of *UBASANIAGENDA’23* for finding me worthy of being selected as the Special Quest of Honour for this important gathering. It is indeed a pleasure to be here and participate as one of the pillars of the occasion. I feel truly honoured, not just because I am speaking as a guest of honour, but because of the personality of the man for whom we are gathered today. Indeed, speaking as a guest of honour in an occasion where the subject is distinguished Senator Uba Sani is a great privilege. Thank you most sincerely.

". I wish to state that the good people of Kaduna State, regardless of creed, tribe or religion has every reason to gather and celebrate the emergence of a charismatic and enterprising leader in person of Sen. Uba Sani as the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC). But beyond gathering here to celebrate his emergence as our party’s flagbearer, I am happy to say that this occasion is also meant to deliberate on key agenda formation for a new Kaduna under our indefatigable leader, the incoming governor by the grace of God.

"Uba Sani is a true nationalist, a patriotic Nigerian who always puts his people and the nation first. He is one of the stabilising voices we have today in our dear State. This, he has demonstrated in a number of times through his quality representation and strategic leadership skills. But, the one that stand out and will continue to echoes in the hearts and minds of the people is his numerous interventions and grants as a lawmaker and senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone. He is a unique leader who was never intoxicated by the privileges of the office he occupies.

" Rather, he always use his position in uplifting the lives of the people of his constituency. This form part of his astonishing qualities that will be sustained if we troop out and vote for him as the next governor of Kaduna State. It also explain why he is the most credible candidate we can trust with our votes.

"I can assure you that Distinguished Senator Uba Sani as a man of wisdom he is, has full knowledge of the challenges ahead of this exalted office he is vying. He is already fully prepared to accept this mandate with every sense of responsibility to take this state to the greater level. He is the only candidate that will build on the legacies of His Excellency, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufa'i, this is why his campaign slogan has always been ‘Consolidation and Continuity’ because the good people of this State will certainly not welcome anything below the benchmark set by Gov. El-Rufa’i’s tenure.

"While I declare the floor open for the commencement of this great occasion, I would also like to thank the government of Kaduna State under the leadership of Gov. Ahmad El-Rufa'i for its great foresight in discovering the great potentials of Sen. Uba Sani and for ensuring that the best man has been chosen to lead us in the next dispensation under this formidable party, APC.

Philanthropist Ashafa says Uba Sani 'll build on El-Rufai's achievements, reacts to running mate calls

The Sardauna of Ikulu kingdom in Kaduna, Alhaji Ismail Yusuf Ashafa, has called on Kaduna residents to vote the All Progressives  Congress (APC) governorship candidate,  Senator  Uba Sani as governor in 2023. 

 Sarduana who doubled as an assistant director in the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) Abuja said he is confident that Senator Sani will build on the achievements and legacy of the incumbent governor,  Mallam Nasir El-Rufai,  once he succeeds him.

He recalled that Senator Sani was part of the elrufai's administration in 2015 and he has the capacity and experience to take kaduna to the next level. "Senator Uba's immediate priority will be to sustain the current level of Governor El-Rufai's achievements and build on them to advance the development of Kaduna State,"he added.

Reacting  to the growing calls and agitation by Kaduna residents on Senator Sani to pick him(Ashafa) as his running mate, due to on his natural intelligence and philanthropic activities, Ashafa said his major focus is on working to ensure  that the Senator succeeds Mallam el-rufai as the governor,  adding that,  "leadership is  crowned and destined by only God and once it is your time to be a leader, you will be. We are all APC from top to bottom and we will contiue to support distingushed senator Uba Sani."

When asked whether it was  his philanthropic contribution towards development of Kaduna and capacity building  that went unnoticed and led to his call to serve as runing mate to the lawmaker,  Alhaji Ashafa said '' people have been actualy calling on senator Uba Sani to pick me as his runing mate.  I as a person i have never contested any position and i had no such plan. I believe leadereship is crowned by God and once it is your time to be a leader. Most of the people making the call are actually saying I have been good to all and sundary,  but for me as a person, i have not done anything different from how a human being is  supposed to behave. I believe if God blesses you, it should not remain within you and your imidiate family, the blessing is supposed to be for everyone. Let everyone feel the impact of you in your society. if you keep good things to yoursel alone, it means you don't appreciate God.

 "Even as a person cannot remember particularly what are some of those things that people say i do that they talk about that i have done, but the only thing i know is that if people are appreciatiing what i do, then it its is an encouragement that i should do more. And if any opportunity presents itself, i will do better.

"For me i only belive that if it is my time, it will come and if its not, i will support whoever God destined it to be . because Kaduna state is beyond an individual and beyond any other person. The development of the state is of collective intrest and this people, that is their intrest. But as far as its for the better of kaduna, I'm ready to support who so ever it is, as far as the movement is for Uba sani," Ashafa assured.

It will be recalled that a  among those calling Senator Sani to consider  picking Alhaji Ashafa as running mate is a Pressure group, known as  Southern Kaduna Progressive Youth who described him as a man of proven integrity from the axis.

The Chief Convener of the Group, Barrister Henry Jenom, who made the call during a press conference in Kaduna on Wednesday outlined philanthropy and peace building efforts as some of the qualities that Alhaji Ismail Yusuf Ashafa is known for which include empowerment of women and Youth.

Barrister Jenom said  if Ashafa is given the chance to run a joint ticket with Senator Uba Sani, it would lead to a landslide victory and Kaduna State would witness tremendous development.

Barrister Jenom said other areas that have stood Alhaji Ashafa out is the fact that he is a bridge builder as he holds traditional titles in both Ikulu Chiefdom and Lere Emirate bearing the title ‘Cigarin Saminaka’, as a technocrat, he has risen through the ranks in the civil service up to the directorate level at the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA.

Democracy Day: Kaduna Speaker Salutes Nigerians, Looks Forward To Credible Leadership In 2023

As the nation marks is 2022 Democracy Day on June 12, the Chairman of the Northern Speakers Forum, Speaker Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani has saluted citizens of the country.

He expressed this in a statement  signed by his SA Media and Publicity, Honourable Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Monday June 13, 2022.

"Our nation is once again, celebrating this year's edition of Democracy Day, set aside to rejoice the governance through participation of all citizens who  contributed in electing leaders through the ballot.

"We are a lucky people that in spite of several daunting challenges facing our dear nation, we have been resilient and our democracy has been preserved," he said.

Zailani said that he was optimistic that the more years the democratic rule continues, it is more deeply rooted and more citizens benefit from its dividends.

"2023 is around the corner, we all have roles to play in ensuring only credible leaders that would further entrench democracy are voted on the ballot.

"Nigeria will be better off if all of us as electorate reject leaders who we strongly feel are only on a selfish mission and vote in those that have track records of selfless service.

"On this note, I wish us all a Happy Democracy Day and hopes for a brighter 2023," he said.

Youths raises alarm over false campaigns against S'kaduna PDP Senatorial candidate

A group, Concerned PDP Youths of Southern Kaduna, has condemned what it described as  "campaigns of calumny" aimed at discrediting the senatorial candidate, Sunday Katung  and the conduct of the primary that led to his emergence. 

  Katung won the Kaduna South People's Democratic Party, PDP senatorial primary election with 112 votes, defeating six others including the incumbent, Danjuma La'ah, who came second with 74 votes.

Speaking at a press briefing in Kafanchan, Mohammadu Akwantas, leader of the group, said La'ah's camp had resorted to all manner of smear campaigns and petitions against Katung instead of congratulating him.

"All the other contestants who lost congratulated the winner and even asked their supporters to work for the victory of the party in 2023.

"Regrettably, Sen.La'ah has refused to concede defeat or congratulate the winner even though Mr Katung had magnanimously reach out to him.

"Instead the senator and his men engage on smear campaigns against the candidate who won.

"A clear example is the collaboration with an officer of the state internal revenue service who concocted a baseless allegations that bother on tax evasion.

"Expectedly, the party headquarters has since thrown the frivolous petition to dustbin for lack of merit.

"But the desperation from the senator's camp has seen them device other means meant to spite the winner and cast aspersions on his hard earned reputation," he added

Akwantas said the accusation of monetary inducement to delegates, in a petition against the winner of the primary was a case of pot calling kettle black.

According to him, they had sufficient evidence of La'ah's many attempts to induce delegates with cash and motorcycles.

He also alleged that the group was contacted by La'ah's camp to mobilize a protest against the suitability of Katung to stand for election in 2023 but refused.

He advised La'ah to retract his steps and congratulate the winner of the primary as well as work for the victory of the party at the polls.

He added that it was regrettable that a man given the mandate of representing the zone for two terms would refuse to accept defeat but would rather be working to scuttle the will of the people.

The group's leader noted that the senatorial seat belonged to every citizen of the zone and not the birth right of one man.

He called on the people of Southern Kaduna to support the ambition of the PDP candidate for a better and prosperous senatorial district.

In a swift response, Marvis Akau, Director of Media and publicity of La'ah's campaign said the petitions against Katung did not emanate from their camp as the petitioners were known.

Akau also denied mobilizing youths for protest against Katung as alleged by the group, noting that nothing could be further from the truth.

"Sen. La'ah does not know anything about any petition neither does he know anything about any protest.

"The people that wrote the petition are known and are all in their various local governments.

"So, they should stop spreading falsehood please," he stated.

APC Primaries: Support Group Says, They Are Proud Of Amaechi

Following his second place finish at the primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), former Minister of Transport, Rt. Honourable Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi has been described as an aspirant who exhibited true leadership qualities.

They made this known in a statement sighed brahim Dahiru Danfulani  National Coordinator  Amaechi Support Group and  Dauseighe Bowei; Zonal Coordinator South/South  Amaechi Support Group 

According to them, "We are using this opportunity to thank everyone that supported , prayed, worked for  and voted  our aspirant, Rt. Honourable Amaechi. 

"We as a support group  are deeply proud of the true leadership example of our principal, His Excellency, Rt. Hon  Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, for his  resilience and bold efforts," the group said. 

According to the group, Amaechi ran a fantastic race.

"We celebrate his consistent faithful commitment and patriotism to Nigeria and demonstration of true courage," the group added.

The Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani has commended President Muhammadu Buhari on the feat of two successful conventions of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) within the last three months.

He expressed this in a statement signed by his SA Media and Publicity, Honourable Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, dated Wednesday June 8, 2022.

"I Rt. Honourable Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani on behalf of myself and the members of our great party All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, heartily congratulate our amiable President and Commander-in-chief, Muhammadu Buhari on the historic fear of hosting two successful conventions within the last three months," Zailani said.

Zailani also congratulated former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his resounding success at the APC Presidential primaries, held at the Eagle Square, Abuja on Wednesday June 8.

"With the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC has proved to be a true democratic party, which keeps to its unwritten promise of handing over power to the South,' he said.

He called on all APC faithful all over the country to rally round their flagbearer to ensure Tinubu is sworn-in as president on May 29, 2023.

Prince Bala Bags Another Traditional title in Ninzo Chiefdom, Preaches Unity

Prince Audu Bala, the Shettiman of Gwantu has been honoured with another Traditional title ' Uchu Agi-aNinzo' (Sarkin Jikokin Ninzo the 1st), by the fifteenth UCHU NINZO (Chief Of Ninzo), Alh Umar Musa.

The turbaning, which took place on Saturday 4th June, 2022 at the forecourt of the Palace in Fadan Ninzo, Sanga Local government Area of Kaduna State witnessed dignitaries across the country.

Speaking at the event, the Monarch said the title was conferred on Prince Audu because of his “courage and strength of character in projecting the image and socio-economic development within the Sanga Communities.

 

"His sterling contribution in preaching peace and mutual co-existence among the good people of the entire Local Government was highly commendable.

He described Audu as a Man, who is blessed with the milk of human kindness.

"This gesture will permanently be recorded in the annals of our history that Audu was the first Uchu Agi-aNinzo."

According to him Bala, has become a member of the Ninzo traditonal council with his permanent Seat in the Palace and when they want to discuss issues of importance they would not hesitate to call on him to contribute his ideas. 

Reacting to the elevation, Prince Bala said he feels very delighted and honoured to be associated with the Ninzo Traditonal Council, adding it is not his making but it was the Will of God for him to be installed and turbaned as Sarkin Jikokin Ninzo.

" In 2010 to be precise, I was conffered with an International award as ' PEACE AMBASSADOR". I never lobbied for it but the people recognised my contribution towards promoting peace. Aside that I am currently the Chairman Gwantu Peoples Progressive Union.

" I am also the President of Sanga Community Development Association for the past 10 years. I have been calling for an election of new exco so that others can take over from where we are now, but the majority are saying no to it supporting my leadership style that I should continue leading them," Bala said.

According to him, he derives joy in bringing people together and developing the Society. My grandfather was installed as Chief of Gwantu-Kurmi in 1958 and he ruled for 33 years and died on the Throne in 1991, my Father being the first born of the Chief of Gwantu-Kurmi then was the Magajin Gwantu-Kurmi who died in 2016, stressing they're peace loving people.

" Emerging as Uchu Agi A Ninzo' known as (Sarki Jikokin Ninzo the 1st) I am calling on the support of all the Agi Ninzo home and abroad  people to see that we bring a meaningful development in the land and Sanga Local Governnment in general.

He further encourage the Youth of Sanga I'm general not to depend on the Government alone but should engage in entrepreneurship to be able to have what will bring a livelyhood to themselves and they should desist from what would bring their reputation down such as involving themselves in any criminal act.
