Kaduna NYSC Coordinator, Taura Urges Corps Members To Take Skill Acquisition serious

By Editor

Kaduna State NYSC Coordinator, Mr Hassan Taura has called on corps members deployed to the state to take skill acquisition serious, as white collar jobs are not readily available.

He made the call during the 21 days orientation course for the 2024 batch A stream 1 corps members.

He said Total of 835 National Youth Service Corps,(NYSC) members dislodged from Abuja orientation camp have joined about 1200 of their counterparts in kaduna to begin the 21-day mandatory 2024 batch 'A' Stream '1'  orientation course.

According to the coordinator, the Abuja corps members  were transferred to kaduna due to overpopulation. He maintained that the corps members would be posted back to Abuja after the 21-day mandatory orientation course.

He also said provision has been made to accommodate the dislodged corps members who came to kaduna  for orientation.

Addressing the press, the state’s coordinator said he reminded the corps members that white-collar jobs were not readily available, hence, the need for them to take part in the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training program.

Doing so, he said it would help the corps members become self-reliant at the end of the service year.

Taura enjoined the corps members to respect all camp officials and obey all camp rules, stressing that indiscipline would not be tolerated.

He thanked the Kaduna State Government and all the scheme's collaborating agencies, individuals and organisations that  contributed in various ways to the smooth commencement of the orientation course.

Earlier, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, encouraged the NYSC members to contribute their quota to the development of the state and the nation in general.

Sani, represented by the Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, restated the state government's commitment to continue supporting the scheme and prioritising the welfare of corps members.
